Patience is my problem. The Blue Boar should sit for three weeks before drinking, but I thought that there would be no harm in trying it after two.
It looked perfect, which was very satisfying. It also smelt right. But the flavour was not as good as I was expecting, with it being a little lacking in flavour. I hope that age will improve it.
I’ll just have to be patient.
I tightened the lids on the scrumpy the other day. Today I checked them and they have a slight hiss as I release the lids. I think that scrumpy should be flat so I have *slighty* loosened them.
I hated the fluttery background noises on the standard analogue audio jack on the RPi, so bought a Soubdblaster Play! for £20 from eBay.

I actually commented out all the extra lines that ended -2 and now I have excellent quality audio. Really pleased. The RPiBox is complete. Wires for the GPIO and an improved larger screen have arrived. I just need to find a container.
Apache 2 does (Apache/2.2.22 on my RPi) didn’t have mod-rewrite set up from scratch. It took a fair bit off work to get it up and running since there are now a zillion different places you have to find to make all the changes.
Enable mod-rewrite:
$ sudo a2enmod rewrite
Edit the sites-available/default file
$ sudo nano /etc/apache2/sites-available/default
And edit the Directory directive
<Directory /var/www/>
Options Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews
AllowOverride All
#Order allow,deny
#allow from all
</Directory>
But that took too long to solve :/
My wonderful wife had secretly purchased some bottles, caps and a capper to give ot me at Christmas. But the Blue Boar was ready to bottle so out they came to be put in to use. The gravity of the beer had fallen to 1009, which was exactly what I would have expected given the sugar/spraymalt combination and my careful reading of the instructions.
I sterilised carefully and used a new barrel with tap and bottling attachment. I only had 24 bottles so recycled some and used some of my left over PET ones. I also bought some new PET ones yesterday for the perry, which needs bottling.
