{"id":330,"date":"2012-09-11T15:06:00","date_gmt":"2012-09-11T15:06:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thomas.w-p.me.uk\/blog\/2012\/09\/build-cm10-for-nexus-7\/"},"modified":"2012-09-11T15:06:00","modified_gmt":"2012-09-11T15:06:00","slug":"build-cm10-for-nexus-7","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thomas.w-p.me.uk\/blog\/2012\/09\/build-cm10-for-nexus-7\/","title":{"rendered":"Build CM10 for Nexus 7"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/forum.xda-developers.com\/showthread.php?t=1846651\">How To intro<\/a><br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/15dKOT97rKWu5Q1t2asZ4fTFNWJrgWeSn6WmLK9B6TQo\/edit?pli=1\">The actual How To<\/a> <br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/wiki.cyanogenmod.com\/wiki\/Barnes_%26_Noble_Nook_Color:_Compile_CyanogenMod_%28Linux%29\">Guide for nook that is referred to<\/a><\/p>\n<p>My notes:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>It does not work on 32 bit Ubuntu 12.04 since you can only compile jellybean on 64 bit O\/S.\u00a0 I learned this the hard way.\u00a0 Thank goodness I have unlimited broadband.<\/li>\n<li>You can do <span><span><b>apt-get install eclipse<\/b><\/span><\/span> on Ubuntu 12.04 and you get eclipse and java, contrary to the out of date google instructions.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/askubuntu.com\/questions\/81815\/cant-install-lib32ncurses5-dev-or-ia32-libs\">To install libncurses5-dev<\/a> you can do <br \/><b><span><span>sudo apt-get install libncurses5-dev:i386<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<li>Did <span><span><b>repo sync -j16<\/b><\/span><\/span>.\u00a0 It started at three pm and ended the following day after two restarts, and the one that worked was using <span><b><span>-j10<\/span><\/b><\/span>.<\/li>\n<li>Did <span><b><span>. build\/envsetup.sh<\/span><\/b><\/span> so that the <span><b><span>lunch<\/span><\/b><\/span> command would work<\/li>\n<li>Did<br \/><span><span><b>croot<br \/>brunch grouper<\/b><\/span><\/span> to build the rom and waited a long time.\u00a0 I got a warning about java that made no sense &#8211; telling me I neded java_6.0.x but I only had java_6.0.34 or something.\u00a0 There was also a warning at the start, but it ran OK.\u00a0 For hours and hours on my Inspiron 1525 (Celeron 900 at 2.2 GHz Processor).\u00a0 I went to bed.<\/li>\n<li>It failed.\u00a0 It turned out I should have done<br \/><span><span><b>cd .\/android\/system\/vendor\/cm\/<br \/>.\/get-prebuilt<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li>Left it building with the step 6 again and went to work.\u00a0 I came back to it nearly being complete but no .zip file \ud83d\ude41<\/li>\n<li>I worked out that the .\/get-prebuilts had not worked.\u00a0 I looked at the script and worked out that the Term.apk was &#8220;file not found&#8221;. I installed the Android Terminal Editor on my nexus, found the file in  \/data\/app using root explorer, sent it to dropbox, downloaded it,  renamed it to Term.apk, commented out the two curl lines in  get-prebuilts and ran it again.  It worked.  I love the internet.
