Hurrah.\u00a0 I added some pectolase to break down the pectin (this stops some sort of haze forming &#8211; not really sure), added some yeast nutrient and then did something new.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_251\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-251\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thomas.w-p.me.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/500D_1816.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-251\" alt=\"500D_1816\" src=\"https:\/\/thomas.w-p.me.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/500D_1816-300x200.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thomas.w-p.me.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/500D_1816-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thomas.w-p.me.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/500D_1816-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/thomas.w-p.me.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/500D_1816.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-251\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The yeast\/juice mix before I returned it to the main demijohn<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>I reused the yeast from my first cider batch.\u00a0 I just poured some juice from the new demiohn in to the must at the bottom of the old one, swilled it around and poured it back in to the juice.\u00a0 I had not choice if I wanted cider yeast.<\/p>\n<p>I then realised that the recipe said that the demijohn should be at 20\u00b0C &#8211; the Brew Belt could come back in to play.\u00a0 Yay.\u00a0 Also it would be nice to have a temperature band on the demijohn.\u00a0 This meant that I would have to peel it off the perry (bad idea) or rack off the perry (good idea).\u00a0 I racked off the perry easily enough (more later) poured the concoction in to the new and carefully cleaned demijohn, wrapped it in the brew belt, and switched on the timer (15 minutes in 45).\u00a0 For once, checking regularly is allowed, since I have to keep an eye on the temperature and want to see the yeast working.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_258\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-258\" style=\"width: 604px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thomas.w-p.me.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/500D_1823.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-258  \" alt=\"500D_1823\" src=\"https:\/\/thomas.w-p.me.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/500D_1823-682x1024.jpg\" width=\"604\" height=\"906\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thomas.w-p.me.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/500D_1823-682x1024.jpg 682w, https:\/\/thomas.w-p.me.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/500D_1823-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/thomas.w-p.me.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/500D_1823.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 604px) 100vw, 604px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-258\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">In situ with the brew belt, temperature strip and timer.
